              Postdoctoral Research Associate

              University of Exeter

              Description

The College wishes to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Associate to participate in Horizon Europe project “Magnonic Artificial Neural Networks and Gate Arrays” (MANNGA). This UKRI funded post is available from 1 September 2022 to 31 August 2024. You will be responsible for setting up and conducting theoretical investigations, ranging from analytical theory to numerical micromagnetic modelling, of chiral magnonic resonators and arrays of those; for using them to design magnonic logic gates, reservoir computers and artificial neural networks; and for supporting the experimental implementation of the designs. This post will also include preparation of the reports to the funder; liaising with the other partners of the MANNGA collaboration; presenting results in scientific publications, and at scientific meetings and conferences; working within a larger team of PhD students and postdoctoral workers.

              About you

The successful applicant will be able to present information on research progress and outcomes, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically and prepare proposals and applications to external bodies. Applicants will possess a relevant PhD or an equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study and be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes. Applicants will be able to conduct theoretical investigations in the area of magnonics, in collaboration with experimentalists both in Exeter and within the wider MANNGA project.
